Help! I need a vacation from my life!
I’m back! After a little break I’m back now. As many of you know, I was in Marbella, Spain for 10 days. That’s why I wasn’t really active here. I wanted to fully enjoy my journey there. It wasn’t just vacation. It was also a business trip with my team and it was amazing. Life brings great adventures!
You find the strength in serenity
I bet everyone of you heard the sentence „You find the strength in serenity“ at least once in your life. In my life serenity is really important. I don’t mean breaks or something like that. What I mean with serenity is: Thinking before I speak, not getting angry about stupid things and just do the things with serenity. Kinda Hakuna Matata I guess. 😛 And maybe that’s the reason why I loved Spain that much.
The people there are really calm. They just don’t stress. They enjoy their life and family is the most important thing in their life I think.
Here in Switzerland where I live it’s just really different. It’s a business country with a lot of stress. Here the people are working their ass off every day just to get more salary or a better certificate. That’s nearly all that matters for people who live in Switzerland and live this Swiss lifestyle.
And as you know: I really don’t live this lifestyle. I live the complete opposite of that.
The more exciting I found the time in Spain. Seeing people who do everything with that serenity was just amazing and peaceful. I think it should be like that just everywhere.
Give and receive
We all know the sentence „Life’s a giving and taking“.
Once I heard about a book where it says: Life’s not about giving and taking. It’s about giving and receiving. I’ll never forget that!
I mean, it’s just correct what it says. Why should I give something just to take something again after it?
That’s so stupid. We should give because we want to give and we mean it. Not just to get something back for it.
In Spain we had a favorite restaurant. The „Da Vinci“ in Marbella. The waiters and the manager there were so friendly and funny and their service was just perfect. And it was no luxury restaurant or something like that. Just a normal restaurant where the Spanish people liked to eat.
When we were there for the 5th time we left 20 euros tips there just because we liked that restaurant that much. We went away and the next day we returned to have dinner there again. When we finished and wanted to leave, the manager came and gave us a gift! That was so amazing. We didn’t expect that. I think that’s a great proof how giving and receiving works. You’ll not get something if you expect it. Only when you give because you mean it.
And the best of it was: The manager and we didn’t even speak the same language. So we couldn’t talk in any language. But you don’t need language to do good! You only need a good heart to do good and receive good. I’ll never forget that kind man.
I personally believe in karma. And not in that „Karma’s a bitch“-thing like it’s apparently normal today. When I say I believe in karma I mean, that I believe that when I’m good to others and myself, THIS will come back one day.
If you treat me right, I treat you right. If you don’t treat me respectful I still treat you respectful.
Just to make clear what I mean: Don’t get exploited by others because you’re „too nice“ or whatever. I just mean that it costs too much energy if you always fire back when someone treats you bad. Today it’s normal to take revenge when someone treats you bad. But I think it’s just much wiser to walk away. Because those people don’t survive without your answer. And if you walk away, one time you’re just too far away to get attacked again. You know what I mean?
This topic wasn’t about my journey in Spain. But I think it still fits to this article here because it’s about something like life philosophy.
Sunrise instead of party
The ones of you that know me a little better know that I’m no „party person“. And this was confirmed to me again in Spain. While other people stayed awake the whole night to be on parties I preferred to get up early to see the beautiful sunsets. It was just AMAZING every single time! This is what gives me energy and strength. And I think it’s important to do such thing every once in a while just to be yourself and fill your „life battery“.
Do I really have to fly back home?
Do you know that feeling? When you had amazing days in your holidays and you just don’t want to fly back again?
Earlier in my life I was really sad when I had to travel back home after a great time on holiday. I hated the flight back. I always had thoughts like „Oh no… now I gotta go back and do the same sh*t again in school / work as I did before“ or „Why can I not stay away from that just forever?“.
I always thought this was normal. Because I heard stories like that from people that went to school or work with me. I always thought this is life. But today I fortunately know it isn’t!
I think we shouldn’t need vacation from our life. Because life’s just too beautiful to only enjoy it 2 weeks a year!
I don’t need vacation from life anymore
When I sat in the airplane on Thursday last week to fly back to Switzerland I was reeeeally happy. I was looking forward to going home. Not because Spain wasn’t great. Because you know now – it WAS GREAT. But I was happy because there wasn’t a bad everyday life waiting for me that I didn’t like. There was waiting an everyday life that I really love. And I knew that I could fly to other countries whenever I wanted to and not just like before when my boss said I can. And THIS is FREEDOM to me.
I had a moment of complete gratitude when I sat there. I was so grateful that I’m only 20 years old and already made my life that way!
DO what makes you HAPPY! No matter what others say or think! This is YOUR life! The sooner you life your dream life the better!

I REALLY enjoyed this article. You presented several good points. You are very wise for one so young! ?? I think we would all do well to simplify and not focus on how others have wronged us, but rather focus on the right we can do for them! Keep up the good, no…GREAT work Sam!!
Oh THANK YOU so much, dear Greg! ☺️ I’m really happy about your words and that you commented this 😀
